Born in Banff, Aberdeenshire Rodney has lived in MacDuff, Cumbernauld, Glasgow and currently resides in Clackmannanshire. The Johnstons were from Greenock where his Great Grandfather Samuel Johnston was also a courtesy driver however he was a coachman taking the VIPs to the launch of the ships on the river clyde in his coach and horses. His mother was a Watt from MacDuff, his grandmother a MacDonald in some photographs you will see Torridon and the New MacDonald tartan. The MacDonald side of the family were brought up in 8 Wester Alligin (between Ben Alligin and Upper Loch Torridon) where Rodney's Great Grandfather Donald MacDonald built the croft that still stands today. Rodney Johnston is a senior supervisor and courtesy car driver. He has worked all over the United Kingdom and Ireland since 1999 and has the experience of working at more than 50 tournaments and events. He was the Outdoor Supervisor at The Open Championship, this included responsibility for all player transportation vehicles as well as the evacuation service.
